Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy

Itís never too late to combat or alleviate the effects of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, digestive problems, food intolerances including celiac disease and lactose intolerance, or other medical conditions.

Good nutrition will play an important role in helping you get better, and making sure you have the proper nutrition is a non-surgical method to avoid more complicated problems. At Lee Memorial Health system, we recognize nutrition as an important part of a healthy lifestyle. A registered dietitian is a professional trained in food and nutrition. A registered dietitian is qualified to address individual nutrition issues and will work with you to provide a nutritional plan to better manage your condition.

Providing practical and reliable information to clients and the community is our goal. The program offers specialized counseling for the following:

  • Cancer

  • Celiac disease

  • Gastrointestinal disorders (diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, etc.)

  • Kidney problems

  • Weight loss

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Pregnancy

  • Tube feeding

If you or someone you know would like to benefit from medical nutrition therapy, ask your doctor for a referral and call 239-424-1499 to schedule an appointment. The outpatient dietitian can meet with you at Cape Coral Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, Lee Memorial Hospital and Gulf coast Medical Center.

For more information, please contact Marjorie Chutkan, outpatient dietitian, at 239-343-5662 or page her at 239-930-3320.
