Giving United — The Annual United Way Campaign

Jim Nathan Each year, as a pacesetter organization for the United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades annual campaign, Lee Memorial Health System employees demonstrate caring, compassion, generosity and pride for our community. Through charitable support of the United Way, in addition to the work we do every day and night, we show our community we care.

Southwest Florida is still facing many challenges—unemployment, foreclosures and many families are uninsured or underinsured. For these reasons and so many more, we proudly support the thousands of individuals who receive help through our region's United Way and the agencies it assists. As a pacesetter, we launch our employee campaign before others in the community, in hope of encouraging other organizations and their employees to join the campaign and make a difference.

By raising funds for 70 human service partners that provide more than 140 programs in our community, the United Way helps those in need—whether the need is financial assistance, disaster relief, addiction services, clothing, food or education.

As health care professionals, we help patients and families every day in our various Lee Memorial Health System roles. We also have a strong tradition of helping our community and our own team members. Please consider giving to help those in need during our United Way campaign, which runs Sept. 4-28. Our goal for the 2012 campaign is $140,000. If every employee gave just $1 per pay period, we would far exceed that goal. Please know that you can allocate some or all of your United Way contribution to the Lee Memorial Health System Employee Assistance Fund. Click here for the 2012 United Way electronic pledge card.

Together, we can show our community we care, inspire others to join the campaign and make a difference in the lives of so many.

Thank you all for being caring people, caring for people.

We are blessed with a team of more than 10,000 professionals and 4,500 volunteers and auxilians who are committed to providing the highest quality, leading edge, compassionate and safe care for our community—they truly are caring people, caring for people.

Peace,

Jim Nathan
